Organizational Design and Effectiveness
In SMEs, organizations naturally develop into a simple pyramid structure, still most popular in the vast majority of enterprises. This is a natural consequence of the need for control and direction.
To survive and thrive in the current markets, organization structures need to be more deliberate. They must be effective, efficient and optimally designed to achieve organizational goals. The organization design must be optimally aligned to achieving those goals.
The most important factor is the alignment of the purported organizational design and structure with the culture. If there is misalignment, a cultural adjustment, an organizational redesign or both need to take place. For example, an exercise in breaking organizational siloes would be futile if the organizational culture is not that of open communication. If improved communication is a goal, then both adjustments to the organizational structure and the culture need to take place.
P3A team will help clarify and articulate the organizational goals. Then, we will asses the existing culture and organizational structure against their alignment to those goals. The assessment outcomes will result in high level actions and requirements, which we translate into action plans, projects and initiatives, and see them through to the extent that the customer deems necessary.
Goals: Organizations have specific goals beyond the obvious financial success. Some organizations aim for growth, others for establishment and integration. Others yet, aim for managing market share or transformation within or outside their industries…etc.
Teams: We work on improving team effectiveness. Through cultural work, we build Trust, from Organizational Goals we derive clear and aligned team goals, and in partnership with managers and HR, we assure that the goals are aligned for all team members. Properly resourcing the teams and removing communication barriers assures their effectiveness.
