Leadership Development is important for any organization, but its criticality and manifestation varies depending on the organization complexity, maturity, industry and market. It is directly connected to organizational performance, but the type and severity of the influence varies.
Typically, in smaller organizations, roles are blurred, people multitask, engagement and communication are direct. Leaders are never far from the rest of the people, and their impact and feedback are clear and prompt. It is likely that leaders in such organizations are young with limited leadership experience. As the organization grows, hierarchy appears, layers and silos appear (deliberately or inadvertently), and communication channels become complex and layered. Leadership style and impact become more profound, while may not b as easily seen or perceived.
